What was the highlight of RAAYA By Atmosphere
An amazing island - we would definitely recommend it
Staff. They go out of their way to support you having the best holiday you can, so incredibly grateful for the work they put in to make your holiday as perfect as possible for you. The pool area is the nicest we’ve ever been to. The larger pool has a lovely design with a deep shallow step with sunken chairs in and never gets too deep. Lovely infinity edge overlooking the beach and sea. The kids pool is adjacent and has the same great design, several deep shallow steps and is 1.5ft deep. This was so perfect for us. It was lovely for the kids pool to be designed as well as the main one and to be adjacent so you still have the great view and that kids were welcome in both. This was the highlight for us. Good drinks and food service. Island medic and proximity to a hospital. Something I’d checked beforehand for ‘just incase’ and sadly we came in need of this when our little one got ill. The island doctor had a good amount of resources and the general hospital was only 15min speedboat away, we were then met by an ambulance that took us there (was a very very short distance). It’s easy to assume you need to be close to Male for this level of medical support. The hospital is Male must be bigger and more specialist but we found the staff couldnt have looked after us better. And again the hotel was excellent, delivering us meals 3x a day and sent a staff member with us to help it go as smoothly as possible. The all inclusive package was all inclusive. All meals, all drinks, everywhere. Lots of activities etc (including a spa treatment / kayaking / snorkelling) This was really nice and a big reason of why we chose it. Kids facilities / club etc. Pro’s and cons to this. We would definitely recommend it to other people, the staff should be so very proud of what an incredible job they do.
The significant sea defenders / sand defence. Rock infrastructure to defend the island significantly impacted the desert island feeling for me. Not being able to look up the beach without the rows of rocks. This isn’t obvious in lots of pictures. The reef was just ok. This is definitely subjective and we’ve been lucky to experience incredible reefs. Sadly the coral was very dead and didn’t even have little reef sharks near the shore. The daily boat trip to their reef was included daily to the reef area. Lack of environmental concern / positive action. Lots of islands are doing everything to maintain the coral near them but I fear here that they have prioritised the resort over the natural water habitats that surround them. I may be wrong, but I’d of thought more would be done to talk about things they were doing if they were doing them. Sea is calmer on one aside but shore is full of dead coral and I fear the islands work may play a factor into the quantity of it. It was low season and things like kids club had a full schedule but they they weren't doing things when you went there due to lack of children (makes sense) but it would have been great if they just did a reduced plan and asked people if they wanted to join. The staff were still there just less for them to do if we weren't using the facilities...

The location was serene and beautiful. Very y atmospheric and with lots of photo opportunity
The entertainment could have been better. The in-house DJ needs a better repertoire of music. The night entertainment was inadequate especially for a festive season.

What was the highlight of RAAYA By Atmosphere
Amari raya: our review.
The pleasent/friendly staff, the beautiful island with diverse flora and fauna. The various activities hosted by amari. The large crystal clear lagoons. The ocean villa exceeded our expectations in comfort, location, and design. The food was better 100/10 every dish was delicious in its own right. They gave us a free cake, a free bottle and the bed had happy honeymoon all for free. They had free cycles for guests to use to enjoy the island. They also had a electric vehicle shuttle every 10-15 minutes on which you can comfortably go anywhere you request. The overall infrastructure of the restaurant, rooms, reception was beautifully designed and well thought out. They make sure to be careful for those with dietry needs like seafood/fish allergies, halal meet options, and replacing alcoholic drinks with non-alcoholic drinks. Their chiefs are very reasonable and very skilled, if theres a dish with a meat or sauce or anything you may not like they can easily substitute that with something else. Their cooking and recipes are very flexible as per individual needs/wants of the guest. The whole aura/vibe of the island, the beautiful lagoon and sea, the greenery and rooms is very dreamy and romantic (especially with that night sky and seabreeze) highly. Recommended for honeymoon couples (just keep in mind the "dont like section for any surprises).
Unresponsive staff on landline in case of emergencies (only ever picked up on whatsapp that too only 80% of the time) The staff that was going to meet us at male airport were uninterested and didn't come look for us. Instead, we had to look for them. Coming they were good with us, but as we were leaving, the experience was all a bit disappointing. There are no life guards in any resorts in maldives and the staff are expected to come to your rescue, however theres barely any staff around when you swim in the lagoons. This is very bad. The flowers they added on our bed for our honeymoon surprise had small insects on them which were spreading on the bed. They dont mention on booking.com or other websites but you have to pay a additional 450 dollars per adult or 350 per child for a seaplane which includes your coming and going from the resort. This is especially distressing if your a first timer with a budget. Non the websites mention that you can get discounts if you download and book via their ONYX rewards app (i only found out from the staff as i was checking out :c)

Very bad price/comfort relation
Gym, water, green island, ok food (minimal diversity). Snorkeling is ok, you can see some fish in car tyres.
We've been here for 11days. We had 3villas. This hotel is simply overrated and overpriced. Island is really dirty, beach has residual waste. strong currents already 1m from sealine. I haven't seen any baywatch guards. all inclusive in reality is not all inclusive: you can not get even coffee for free outside breakfast, dinner, lunch time.  in village center it costs 7-10usd. tiny chicken sh"t sized ice cream ball for kids only 12usd. Food variety is minimally ok in general, but not for such hotel price. Everybody was disturbed with fruit availability: oranges only for several days. long lines to get food if you wanna get it done in front of you. Kids "friendly" hotel, they have a life threatening zip line, your kid can break a skull in the end of it, because the stopper is put too close to the wooden holding pole. i informed management about dangerous equipment 2x, nobody reacted. 1 small tree in the middle of the playground, no shadows there. no animators. no activities. just drink beer on the shore. Relaxing and spending time here is a problem if you are not alcohol abuser. Everywhere workers insist you take a check, even if it for free, mini bar, coffee.bars. Persists, feeling that even management doesn't trust own workers. Staff is unresponsible or just ignorant to YOUR problems. you try to avoid mosquitoes in a room, hold your windows and doors shut. then cleaning personnel hold doors wide open in your room in the evening. You and your kids get bitten and it's difficult to sleep with flying mosquitos. You can sit in the lounge/sunset bar with kids and staff puts rapidly music on 100% volume from big speakers. And you have crying kids for 2h, have a good evening.  internet wifi is a disaster, speed of 0.1mbit, so better not to plan any working. telephone connection is also weak and unstable.  they apply anti insect gas around you, villa, bar, you can't even breathe, if it is safe why they use masks.
